Watch YouTube in HQ by Default

youtubevideoqualityIf you’d like to watch YouTube videos in HQ by default, it’s easy to do. Sign-in, click on the Account button and then choose Playback Setup. It will then give you an option to always watch HQ videos when they are available.

I usually change my AVI files to MOV files uses QuickTime Pro and use h.264 with orignal frame rate. Depending on the length of the video I will change the bit rate to make sure my video stays under the 1 GB limit. Usually around 1500 kbs.

Higher Quality on YouTube

If you like to see a higher quality video on YouTube add this to the end of the URL:
&fmt=18.

If there’s a better quality video available, you’ll get it.

Note – it’s too bad that WordPress limits us to the low quality version.
