Fixing a Photo – Contrast

Many times a photo needs a bit of tweaking to make it a bit more vivid. Here are two tips to do just that in Photoshop.

  1. I first use levels – Ctrl L to change the contrast.
  2. Copy the picture to a new layer – Ctrl J and then change the Mode from Normal to Overlay.
  3. Change the Opacity on this layer from 100% to whatever seems best for the picture – I used 30%
  4. Note – you could also select the sky and use levels to give it a bit more blue color.
