Windows 7 – Recovery/Restore Points

One way to protect yourself from a wonky computer is to backup critical files on a regular basis. Win 7 has a way to do that automatically and in the background.  You’ll find it under System Properties – System Protection – System Restore. type any of those in the Search Box when you click on the Windows icon – bottom left on your screen.

What puzzles me is that this setting was turned off on one of my computers. I’m not sure why, but it certainly not what you want.

What you have to do is click on the drive and then click “configure.”

Now when you have a problem you can restore it to a previously good state.

Note – you can also do this in Windows XP easily.
Programs – Accessories – System Tools – System Restore.
