Java – Disabling Today and in the Future

Today, August 27, 2012, there have been a number of articles about a vulnerability with Java. Most of the sites recommend disabling Java. Here’s and article on how to do just that.

Note from J. below:
Javascript is not the same thing as Java.  They are completely different, but suffer from a similar name.  Java is older tech that has had it’s share of security problems, and disabling it is probably a good idea.  Javascript it pretty fundamental to almost any modern webpage, and disabling it will significantly degrade your web browsing experience.

Also Steve Gibson had a great discussion of Java’s problems on his Security Now #367 podcast.http://twit.tv/show/security-now/367
