Google Drive – Offline

Since I’m using Google Drive for most of my documents, it’s disconcerting when I don’t have internet access and thus no access to my Google Docs.

One partial solution is to put Google Drive onto your computer and enable Offline Mode. You need to do this for every computer. There are problems however.

  • Documents are editable.
  • Spreadsheets are only viewable – not editable. I couldn’t even save the view as a file.
  • Presentations are editable
  • Drawings are not even viewable.

In conclusion – Offline Mode is fair, but it needs some improvement.

  1. This is the “next world” — the offline world is growing, don’t you think?
