How to Improve WiFi – Horizontal and Vertical

I’ve been wanting to improve my wifi performance for my Dir-655 router and so I’ve done a few tests which might be beneficial to you.

  1. Windsurfer – I made two windsurfers that were supposed to improve router performance, but did not. FreeAntennas.com Other people have had good luck with this, but I didn’t see any improvement. I used the WiFi Signal Strength app on my Nexus.
  2. I noticed that my Nexus 7 has much better WiFi reception when it is in the vertical position versus the horizontal position. Luckily I have it in a case which makes it easier to stand it up vertically.
