I recently had the experience of sending an email to fifty-five people in our Toastmaster club. I received approximately five emails bounced back to me as unsendable since I had too many people in the “TO: ” area. The online software we use, Turbobase, puts our entire club membership in that area. Some ISP’s just don’t allow people to receive email if there are too many recipients. Gmail seems to be ok with that, but only about 20% of members have gmail.
I’ve been looking for possible solutions and found one – MailChimp.com
It appears to be free for up to 2,000 email addresses. Here’s what they say on their web page. “As long as you’ve got fewer than 2,000 subscribers across all lists in your account, you can send up to 12,000 emails per month without paying us a dime. We won’t even ask for a credit card.”
Here is also a link to show the comparison between the Free and Paid versions.
I haven’t used this yet, but may have to in the future.
