Grandparents Beware of Spending on Grandkids Apps

pet-hotel

If you’re a doting grandparent, it’s probably pretty likely that you have given your grand-kids your smart phone or tablet to play with. The problem starts when they come to you and ask for you to spend 99 cents on a dog house that their online app doggy needs. While most of us will gladly comply, the problem comes after you make the purchase and you hand the phone/tablet back to child.

Both Apple and the Google Play store allows the user then to make more purchases without a password for either 15 minutes in Apples case or 30 minutes in the Google Play store.

Consumer Reports has a great story about this problem and how easy it is for kids to spend a hundred dollars with the click on a mouse.

Grandparents – watch out!
